About DT Pet Nutrition

Hi, I’m Dorothy — a pharmacist with a deep interest in pet nutrition and fresh food formulation.

I help pet guardians make confident, science-based food choices so their dogs and cats can live healthier, happier lives. I believe that food doesn’t replace medicine — but when used thoughtfully, it can strongly complement it. My goal is to use nutrition as a practical, supportive tool for long-term wellbeing.

My special interest lies in kidney disease, and in creating diets that support pets through different stages of life — especially when things feel uncertain or overwhelming.

I’m a registered pharmacist and hold a Diploma in Veterinary Clinical Science. I’ve also earned the Canine & Feline Nutrition Certificate from Southern Illinois University, completed canine food formulation courses, and have worked closely with both my own pets and clients’ dogs to design balanced diets tailored to individual health needs.

But this work isn’t just academic for me.

My journey into pet nutrition became deeply personal when my own dog, Ziggy, faced health challenges that couldn’t be solved by medication alone. Navigating his needs taught me how powerful — and how nuanced — nutrition can be when it’s used with care, patience, and proper understanding.

That experience continues to shape how I approach every consultation and every meal plan today.

Whether your pet is managing kidney concerns, allergies, or you simply want to feed fresh, balanced meals with confidence, I’m here to guide you — thoughtfully, practically, and without judgment — every step of the way.
